Light up the SKY

The lightning was soo bright and crazy the other night, that it would light up the sky behind the clouds... it was soo cool.. above was just the night sky, and below was right when the lightning striked...

I LOVEEEE The Dallas Skyline...

i LOVEEEE the dallas skyline... it just means a lot to me now... and anytime i see it in a picture or on tv my heart skips a beat... and everytime i see the skyline after coming back to school, from being away, evokes a crazy feeling... i LOVEE IT!
I took these from the Ferris Wheel at the Texas State Fair... wayyyy cool!

My Banana....

i won this banana at the Texas State Fair... it was insane... they said people rarely win... and i happened to be the exception... it is a LIFE SIZE banana... what the heck do you do with a life size banana? it just chills in our entrance way... kinda a WELCOME TO OUR ROOM type deal... he scares the crap out of me on a daily basis... hahaha its crazy...

My Parisian School!

My parentals just got home from a trip to Paris and Portugal, and while abroad, they stopped at my school in Paris to check things out. It is called Reid Hall... Here are some pictures...

They said it is in an amazing neighborhood, and a really fun location. It is in the middle of a bunch of French Universities and the area is basically ALL students and young people.

They said it was really funny cause all the french students were together, smoking, and all the american students were together, not smoking...

A WIN... (well, almost)

Saturday night was our home game against Navy. First, let me just say, it was an AMAZING game... It was lively, exciting, heart-wrenching, on-your-feet action... It was crazy... We started off amazing... By half-time we were up 21-7... my friends were contemplating winning, thinking we had it in the bag, but we decided "you never know" and stayed (as did the majority of the stadium, which is quite rare)... after half-time it was neck-in- neck. They scored a few, we scored a few... By the end of the game it was tied 35-35... CRAZINESS... in overtime Navy won with a field goal... lame right...
Playing Navy at home is quite exciting... They come in all flashy, but we don't mind. Some sky divers sailed in with the home ball, some crazy planes flew over head (i dont know what they are called), and a boat load of uniformed men floated around campus (very very nice :))... Also, we got a surprise visit from Mr. Bush. He presented some award, then did the coin toss...

3 day week...

Today is Friday. THANK YA JESSSUS! Even though it has only been a three day week... it feels like it will never end...

My fall break was fun... nothing too exciting, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I hung out with my siblings most of the time... and just kinda RELAXED! and DAMNN did it feel goooood.

It took me a while to be able to just just back, relax, and realize that i DO NOT have to be doing anything but just sitting there... well, if you have ever met me you know I always have to be doing something... I cant even sit down and watch a movie, unless I am painting, or knitting, or sewing, or stretching... it can be quite frustrating... so this idea did not go over too well...

So I... finished 3 new small paintings, did some sewing and fixing i have been needing to do, did yoga for hours and hours and hours... and other things along those lines...

Did i do any of the homework i needed to do? of course not... shoot.

I did get my hair and nails done... i got shopping done for my moms birthday... and i had in&out for lunch one day (a necessity when i go home)...

So overall, it was a VERY good, relaxing, weekend. :)

Paris Je'taime!!!!

I got accepted into the SMU-in-Paris program officially! This was a bit of a relief, seeing as, weeks ago, my mom had bought our tickets to Paris in January.

I can not tell you how excited i am to go! I am getting sooo excited with the more and more i think about it, and the more people i talk to about it.

I am torn, because i don't know how i am going to survive without my best friends, but i can't wait to get to Paris. It is going to be a huge growing experience being immersed into a completely foreign country, that speaks a language i don't know. I am excited for the challenge, but there is definitely a part of me that is very anxious.

So now i have to make an appointment at the LA Consulate to get my student Visa... so i get to make an extra trip home this semester... i am excited, but sad at the same time... i only have so many weekends left here at SMU... and i don't want to waste one going home... Not that i don't love going home! I do, but I'll be home for a week at Thanksgiving and 5 weeks for Christmas, before I leave for Paris... oh, well...

I can't wait! AMAZING!

Fall Break...

I am sooo excited... today, i get to GO HOME! We have a four day weekend... and i could not be more ecstatic... It is time for a break... my own bed, my own bathroom, my family, my dogs, my car, good food... Can't WAITTTTTT!!!!!!!!

Birthday Night Out...

On Friday, my best friends and I, decided to go out to celebrate my birthday... It was insanely fun! We got all dressed up, took a billion pictures, (i then changed my outfit), then went to a club called MYST...

It was an amazing night... it was a memorable night... it was a night none of us will forget... It was a night that makes college, college... It showed me that these four girls are my best friends, for an unlimited number of reasons... I could not have asked for a better birthday celebration or better friends to share it with... it makes me smile--a big, insane, goofy smile--to just think about it... :)

Its my birthday... i can cry if i want to...

and i did... For those of you that DONT know me, my birthday is a HUGE deal to me. It is my FAVORITE day of the year... and i love it... so with all that pressure i put on this one day of the year, things can go easily astray... And yesterday, they did... It was quite an emotional day actually... i had a huge technical problem with my cell phone, and that in turn, created huge, other problems... It was eventually worked out.. and my day turned out fabulous!

Originally, I was not going to be able to go out to dinner on my birthday because I had a journalism lecture at 8 pm and a big French test to study for. But, my suite mate is in my Journalism class and told me that since it was my birthday i was not allowed to go to the lecture and she would take notes and give them to me... What a freaking sweetheart! It made my day! so i got my best friends together really quickly, and we all went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory...

It was so much fun! We are all crazy together, and have the best time! It was the PERFECT birthday dinner... Tonight, I am going out with a huge group of friends... And its going to be crazy and funn! I can't wait... :) Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!!! :)

CRAZZY..

Its been a very hectic and busy couple weeks... I have been dealing with a ton of things from the first round of tests to drama with friends to making decisions about next semester/life....

Its crazy how the teachers all schedule their first tests in the same two weeks... last week i had 2 tests and a quiz, and this upcoming week i have 2 tests and a quiz... Its a lot, but i am getting the work done and getting good grades in the process, except for in chemistry... uhh-ohh... hahah...

I am actually in the library right now studying... so i should get back to work.... LATERRRRRR

Thank Goodness for Technology...

On Wednesday, Cameron and I, ichatted for a while! it was amazing... it made me miss him soo much! He is such a character....

Then Tess came and said hello for a little while, then Cameron brought Mick up.... :( it made me sad... but at least we have the technology today to be able to see each other like this! its very funnnn!!!!!!!!

HAPPPPY BIRTHDAY SHMOOOOOO

TODAYYY is Cameron Jeffery Duarte Jonas' 11th birthday! What the heck!!! Why is he so old already! I am so sad how fast time passes, but I am so excited for him. My youngest brother, Cameron, is honestly my FAVORITE person on this planet! He is super close to me... and i lOVE him to death!
He is such a character... i loveee itt.. :)

It is a Monday...

It is STILLL raining here in Dallas... So i decided to brighten things up a bit. Today I wore my lime green Chucks, with black leggings, with a bright blue and lime green wind breaker (to protect me from the rain), with my backpack (that happens to be blue and lime green... creating more matching...), with my lime green cell phone case... so basically i was all lime green and bright blue... a sight to be seen against the cloudy, rainy sky...

it was weird though, because the lining of my jacket is bright orange, and the zipper detail on my backpack is orange, and the man on my tank top is wearing a lime green shirt, and the paint splattering on the shirt is orange... so there is something to be said for lime green, blue, and orange as a color combo...

Anyway.. today is a VERY busy day for me... but overall its going to be a good, full week. I am excited... : )

OH... and BY THE WAY...

SMU WON AGAIN!!! woohooo... First 2-0 start to the season since 1996!!! This is a big deal! GOOD JOB BOYS!!!!!

weeeekend blues...

Its been a long rainy weekend. Friday night i spent a few hours in the ER with my roommate... she was prettty sick... Then Saturday, the storm continued and Cami and I went to see Julie and Julie. It was a very cute movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I came home and discovered I am VERY allergic to Penicillin, seeing as my entire body erupted in sweltering hives... nice visual, right? I took a bunch of Benedryl and slept for 14 hours. I woke up and went to lunch with Cami, then to a 4 hour DeeGee meeting... It was a very long meeting, but quite entertaining. I am dreading school tomorrow. I feel like I didn't even have a weekend... but oh well, thats life... Off to do homework. :) byeee

"Studying for French"

Should I be embarrassed? I can't decide... hahahahah This is dedicated to my family!

Oh Nooooooooo...

First big French test tomorrow. I am très nervous!! I have been studying for a VERY long time. I made about 200 notecards. I am LOVING french and can not wait to go to Paris for a semester next year!

As of now...

I am pretty much caught up... We had our first football game on Saturday... and we WON!!!!!! Finally an SMU win... it was an exciting game. I can't wait for this season, we are looking good! Its going to be a good year!

Classes start again tomorrow. Its been a nice 3 day weekend... I have a busy day tomorrow, but I am looking forward to this week... i am going to make it a good one.
